Founded in 2014 by Karen Michelle and former partner Meko Krout, Shades of Success has been a beacon in the community, celebrating and honoring women on their journey to success. Through our annual Shades of Success Awards Gala, we have recognized trailblazers, entrepreneurs, and leaders who are making an impact in their industries and communities.

As we step into 2025, we proudly celebrate 11 years of empowerment, recognition, and growth with the rebirth of Shades of Success. Expanding beyond our signature gala, we are introducing transformational workshops designed to equip entrepreneurs, professionals, and visionaries with the tools to thrive. These sessions will focus on:

Business Scaling, Financial Literacy, Self-Publishing for Authors, Leadership Development, Networking Meetups, Collaborative Community Opportunities.

Meet the Founder

Karen Michelle is a dynamic entrepreneur, real estate investor, and asset recovery analyst with a passion for serving others. Growing up in a diverse environment, she gained a deep understanding of diversity and inclusion—principles that have been instrumental in her ability to build and run successful businesses.

With over six years of experience in real estate and asset recovery, Karen has dedicated her career to helping individuals reclaim lost funds and navigate financial challenges. Her work allows her to operate in her gifts and love languages, providing meaningful support to those in need.

Karen’s leadership extends beyond real estate into her role as the founder of Shades of Success, an organization committed to fostering leadership, resilience, and collaboration. Through Shades of Success, she inspires and uplifts others by sharing stories of perseverance, offering mentorship, and creating opportunities for growth. The organization serves as a platform for building strong communities and empowering individuals to step into their full potential.
